Tariff Services Overview
Interstate household goods carriers have been required to publish their rates in a tariff and make that tariff available to the public for the past 70 years. Many movers have accomplished this by participating in the collectively established tariffs published by the Household Goods Carriers Bureau. On May 7th, 2007 the Surface Transportation Board (STB) has terminated the Bureau’s collective agreement effective December 31st, 2007 that permits the use of collectively established tariffs. Each mover must publish their own individual independent tariffs effective January 1st, 2008.
IGC Software has been working with the AMSA for the past 9 years incorporating the latest tariff and pricing modifications into its applications. It was a natural selection for the AMSA to look to IGC Software to step in and assist its member movers with their tariff publishing needs. To this end IGC has undergone training with the AMSA to ensure that the strict regulatory requirements in regards to tariff publication will be met. IGC’s moving industry experience, coupled with its innovative technical processes, positions IGC as the most complete tariff filing and publishing service for today’s moving company.

- Adoption of the AMSA 400n or Tariff 600, which requires the mover to purchase a license from the AMSA.
- Publishing a custom tariff.
- Tariff Consulting – IGC Software can leverage its extensive experience in the moving & storage industry by assisting a mover in creating a custom tariff or helping determine what rate changes should be made in modifying an existing 400n or 600 tariffs.
